The laminate flooring has a strong wear-resistant layer, the over layer is made of melamine, and the laminated wear-resistant covering paper is produced under high temperature and pressure, thus the covering is highly resistant. 

Many laminate flooring products can be installed as floating floors, meaning they are not glued or nailed down to the subfloor. This floating installation method allows for some flexibility in the event of minor subfloor imperfections and can simplify the installation process in certain situations.
